History crumb got together in 2004 with no great plan in mind except to play back to basics short guitar pop tunes. Like most bands we find it hard to describe ourselves, we like to say that we write short sweet melodic jangly pop. Other people have said that 'we write well crafted songs, we are a guitar pop tour de force and that we stand head and shoulders over the style of substance bands doing the rounds at the moment'. We will let you form your own conclusions and we hope that you like it!
We are Dez Foley (drums/vocals), Fiachra McCarthy (bass) and Derrick Dalton (guitar/vocals)
We have known each other for a number of years. Derrick played in a band called Hey Paulette in the late 1980's. They released a few vinyl records independently on their own record label called Mickey Rourke's fridge. They did a number of sessions notably a John Peel one in Maida Vale and a Fanning session. Derrick went on to play bass in Mexican Pets.
Dez played drums in The Sewing Room. They recorded two albums for a great Irish record label based in Dublin called Dead Elvis. They also recorded a John Peel session.
Fiachra plays guitar in House of Mexico and also records his own solo stuff.
